Peter Eberle

President & CIO

Mr. Eberle is the President and Chief Investment Officer of the Castle Analytics LLC. Mr. Eberle has extensive experience in portfolio management, derivatives trading and risk management. He has been an active investor of Bitcoin since 2017. Earlier in his career he was a market maker in equities and equity derivatives. At Goldman Sachs, he served as the Co-Head of Trading on the Pacific Exchange and was a member of the U.S. Equity Derivatives Risk Management Committee. Mr. Eberle has an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He serves on the Board of Directors as Finance Committee Chair of Shelter Inc., a non-profit working on preventing homelessness and providing affordable housing in the SF Bay Area.

Dan Hoover

COO & CCO

Mr. Hoover is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Castle Analytics LLC. Mr. Hoover has extensive experience in investment analysis, portfolio management, and risk management. Prior to joining the Castle Analytics LLC in 2020, he was at BlackRock for more than 11 years in a variety of client service and strategic planning roles, including the ETF and institutional-client businesses. He joined BlackRock in 2008 after working as an engagement manager for the consulting practice of EY LLP, where he advised asset-management, private-equity, broker-dealer, and endowment clients on risk management and regulatory compliance best practices. He began his career as a portfolio manager at Wells Fargo. Mr. Hoover earned an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Economics at the University of California, San Diego, and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

John Akapo

Systems Architect

Mr. Akapo is the Systems Architect of the Castle Analytics LLC Mr. Akapo has over 20 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing client and server-side software systems. Prior to joining the Castle Analytics LLC as a founding team member in 2018, Mr. Akapo developed the Internet of Things messaging pipeline for Samsung SmartThings Enterprise. He joined Samsung after more than 10 years at Wells Fargo, where he architected numerous components of financial infrastructure including Wells Fargo’s online mortgage and online payment services systems. Mr. Akapo earned his degree in Computer Science from the University of Houston.

Dan Serfaty

Systems Architect

Mr. Serfaty is the Systems Architect of the Castle Analytics LLC. Mr. Serfaty specializes in designing and deploying distributed systems, microservices, and application programming interfaces. Before joining Castle Analytics LLC as a founding team member in 2018, Mr. Serfaty led one of the core teams at Samsung building the Internet of Things platform SmartThings Enterprise. Prior to joining Samsung in 2013, he led a core team at Hewlett-Packard working on the distributed printing service HPConnected. Mr. Serfaty began his career in software development in 1996 with the startup Quick Studio, and has worked at numerous startups and corporations including CloudTalk and EMC Documentum. Mr. Serfaty earned a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Paris VI Jussieu and Post-graduate degree in Human-Machine Interface from the University of Paris XI Orsay.
